Explore the Charleston area like never before! With this free, interactive program, families scout attractions, collect souvenir stamps in a keepsake passport, log secret codes and turn visits into prize-winning vacations.
Kids (ages 0-18) can register and obtain a Charleston Explorers passport at any one of 5 Official Charleston Area Visitor Centers (see each address listed). Parents sign a consent form for each child participating when registering at the Center. Once enrolled, Explorers visit Charleston area attractions to collect stamps in their passport. The more stamps they collect, the more prizes they receive.
Each passport obtained at the Visitor Center has a unique passport number. Either on their smartphone or on a computer, Explorers and their parents set up a profile online which activates their passport. As they visit attractions and collect stamps, they log the unique code which is included in the attraction stamp into their online profile. As they enter attraction codes, they rise through the ranks from Deckhand to Elite Explorer. With each new rank, they receive a gift which is sent to them at the physical address provided at registration.
Here is a complete list of participating attractions. Detailed descriptions, hours of operation and locations are found in the Official Charleston Area Visitor Guide or online at ExploreCharleston.com.
Admission to attractions is the same for passport holders as it is for those who do not participate in the Charleston Explorers program. This program is not a discount program, although coupons for many participating attractions can be found here.
Charleston Explorers club passports do not expire, so Explorers can collect stamps on return trips to the Charleston area.
