What time does the market open?

Vendors in the market area begin to set-up as early as 8 a.m., however, the market is in full swing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m, daily, during the spring/summer, some vendors stay later.

What should we pack for our beach vacation?

Great news - flip flops, floppy hats, sunscreen and swimsuits will get you beach ready by summer - and they're the Lowcountry uniform for most beach cafes and shops! (Charleston's beaches are casual; downtown a bit less so, even in the summer). Fall and winter can bring a chill to the air, so sweat shirts and cozy layers are preferred.

What is accessible for my children in a stroller?

Many attractions are accessible to strollers such as The South Carolina Aquarium, The Charleston Museum, The Children's Museum of the Lowcountry, The Gibbes Art Museum, The City Market, Charles Towne Landing are all stroller friendly. Although children are welcomed, strollers are discouraged for some of the house museums and some areas of the plantations. Should you decide to take a bus or carriage tour, the company will usually be glad to hold your stroller during the tour. No strollers are allowed to occupied on moving tour buses, city transportation or carriages. Our suggestion would be to call the attraction for specific guidelines they may have.

Can we bring our dog to Charleston?

Dogs are practically royalty in the Lowcountry, so behaved pooches are welcome in lots of our parks, farmers markets, and on the beaches (follow local laws). Many hotels welcome pets.
